ORIGIN
STORY

Within 50 years of being built the Erie Canal made New York State the biggest producer of beer in the country, with hops and ingredients floating east on the canal to breweries in Albany and NYC.

The Erie Armada pays homage to this rich history in a modern-day festival and regatta setting. It is a winning concept borne from New York State’s Reimagine the Canals competition, a NYS program focused on the future usage of the Erie Canal.
